Wyndham Hotel Group has opened the Wyndham Cusco
Saqsayhuaman in Cusco, Peru, the first property to fly the upscale
Wyndham Hotels and Resorts brand flag in the South American
country.
Wyndham Cusco Saqsayhuaman is located just a short
ride from downtown Cusco, the Inca ruins of Macchu Picchu and the Andes Mountains.
The 79-room hotel features a premier lounge and oxygen
bar, a skywalk balcony offering local and international cuisine
and the Samay Wasi Inka Spa, which combines ancient Inca healing
techniques with modern luxury spa treatments.
The hotel becomes
the second full-service Wyndham property in South America and the
fifth Wyndham Hotel Group property in Peru, following the
expansion of the Ramada brand in the country last year to four
hotels.
The new Wyndham hotel, owned by Cuzco II
Ventures, joins the Hotel Costa Del Sol Ramada Cusco
in the city of Cusco, one of the country’s most significant
tourist destinations, once the capital of the Inca Empire and one
of the most prominent gateways to Machu Picchu.
“We are proud to introduce the Wyndham Hotels and Resorts
brand to Peru with the opening of the Wyndham Cusco Saqsayhuaman
in one of the country’s most popular and historic cities,” said
Daniel del Olmo, senior vice president and managing director of
Latin America for Wyndham Hotel Group. “The expansion of our
diverse portfolio of hotels is a priority for Wyndham Hotel Group
as the region continues to experience economic growth and a robust
landscape for development, especially in the burgeoning country of
Peru.”
As of 30 June 2013, Wyndham Hotel Group has 110
hotels and over 13,800 rooms in Mexico, Central America, South America and the Caribbean operating under the Wyndham Hotels and
Resorts, Howard Johnson, Days Inn, Ramada, Microtel Inn &
Suites by Wyndham, Wingate by Wyndham and TRYP by Wyndham brand
flags.
