Plaza Premium has opened a new flagship Lounge
at Hong Kong International Airport. Centrally located in the
airport’s West Hall and measuring 15,000 sq ft, the expansive
24-hour retreat is one of the largest pay-in lounges in Asia.
The lounge, designed by Kinney Chan of
Kinney Chan & Associates, is divided into several zones to provide
travellers with multiple experiences and choices.
Catering to single travellers, couples and large
parties, guests can choose to take a seat at one of the booths,
share a communal table or appreciate the panoramic view of the
runway from one of the bar stools.
Each area fulfils a different purpose –
relaxing, dining or working – and is designed accordingly. While
the lounge and bar areas feature soft lighting, hushed tones and
subtle textures to create a mood of quiet calm, the dining spaces
engage guests with their open kitchens, bold colours and tempting
food displays. At the fully-equipped working station, executives can stay connected with the lounge’s free Wi-Fi, charge up their
devices in one of the many power sockets, complete a transaction
at the private workstations while enjoying the panoramic view of
the airport runway.
Plaza Premium Lounge has also launched a new dining concept
- The Market Place.
Catering to discerning diners with an appetite for variety, The
Market Place comprises a range of food and beverage stalls, from a
tea station serving Chinese milk tea and artisan, to a salad bar
serving a range of healthy food options, to a Noodle Bar serving
its signature Hong Kong-style fish ball noodles, steamed rice
rolls and steamed dim sum. A feast for the senses, it is designed
so that guests can interact with chefs at the various food
stations and indulge in a selection of Hong Kong delicacies.
Interactivity is at the heart of the food concept. In the
exclusive bar area, The Hub, together with the wine dispenser, hot and cold tapas will be served daily, this includes croquettes,
daily soups, mezza platters etc.
Plaza Premium will provide around-the-clock
dining options. Each evening guests can look forward to a
selection of hot and cold tapas served in the two bars,
complemented with a selection of wines.
Wine connoisseurs
can indulge in a range of wines from around the world via a newly
introduced self-serve wine dispenser. Ensuring that guests can
sample a broad variety, the menu will be regularly updated, each
time the focus changing to a specific country or region.
Customised Features
From
the designer furniture to the unique lighting – contribute to the
sense of exclusivity and bespoke comfort.
The honeycomb-styled
chairs, a highlight of the lounge, provide individual booth-like
spaces, giving users a private area to engage in a quiet Skype
chat or confidential phone call.
Intimate clusters of
plush lounge chairs create a relaxing environment, while reclining
chairs are strategically placed throughout the lounge, offering
guests the chance to observe airport activities through the
full-length wraparound balcony windows.
Visitors preparing
for a long-haul flight or transit passengers can freshen up in one
of the two showers, each one stocked with organic Jasmin
Aromatique products from Australia.
