Angel Gallego has been appointed as the new
President of Amadeus Asia Pacific.
Angel replaces David Brett who
has been with Amadeus for 23 years, 13 years in a leadership role
in the region.
Luis Maroto, President & CEO, Amadeus IT Group
said, “David opened the Asia Pacific office for Amadeus in 2000
and has done a remarkable job significantly growing our business
in the region into what it is today. We are sad to see David leave us and wish him all the best for the future.”
While this move
will see Angel join Asia Pacific for the first time, he is no
stranger to diverse regions. He previously successfully managed
the growth of Amadeus to consolidate and expand its leadership
position in diverse geographies such as Western Europe, Middle
East and Africa and Latin America.
Angel will direct the
company’s strategy for Asia Pacific, with a focus on distribution
and new business opportunities in the region. Ensuring the travel
industry continues to have the latest technology to meet the
increasing demands of today’s traveller in Asia Pacific will also
be a key priority.
