Libyan Airlines will take delivery of its first
Airbus A330s equipped with OnAir connectivity next month.
Passengers on long-haul flights to and
from Tripoli will be able to stay in contact with family, friends
and colleagues by phone, SMS and email. They will also be able to
update social media accounts and use the internet.
“Usage of Mobile OnAir has
proved popular on our A320s and we are very excited about having
the full range of connectivity options on our new A330s from May,”
said Fauzi Zaghonni of Libyan Airlines. “We are an ambitious
airline, we were very keen to provide our passengers with the very
best services particularly on our new fleet, which must include
inflight connectivity. As we grow our route network by new fleet
equipped with ’OnAir's connectivity, we need to be confident that
we will be able to provide the same high level of service
everywhere. OnAir is our solution to make these services available
on board.”
Mobile OnAir and Internet OnAir
have been line fitted on four Libyan Airlines’ A330-200 aircraft in
time for the May delivery of two A330s, followed by another two
next year. The aircraft will fly on long-haul international routes
to Asia and Europe.
