Frasers Hospitality has appointed Mr Alan Tang
as Chief Operating Officer.
Alan will be responsible for overseeing
commercial operations with a key focus on developing the group’s
business growth and expansion strategy.
He joins Frasers from
GIC Real Estate where he was Senior Vice President, Head
of Hospitality overseeing multi-billion (USD) global hospitality
real estate portfolios on investment and asset management.
Over
that thirteen-year period he oversaw the notable acquisitions and
substantial asset management of global properties across multiple
international brands including that of Shangri-La, Westin, Hilton,
Marriott, Hyatt, Ascott, Oakwood, InterContinental Hotel Group and
Accor.
Mr Choe Peng Sum, Chief Executive Officer of
Frasers Hospitality Pte Ltd said, “With his extensive knowledge
and wealth of experience in the international hospitality
industry, Alan will undoubtedly be a strategic asset in driving
Frasers’ global vision for growth, as a world leader in the
serviced residence industry.”
Prior to GIC, Alan was with
Raffles Holding with key responsibilities for the European and US
markets. He was also instrumental in leading the valuation of
Raffles International Limited (the management company) as part
of the restructuring and IPO processes.
Alan started his career
in the hospitality industry with the Singapore Tourism Promotion
Board where he was the driving force behind STPB’s Internet
marketing strategy, as well as the successful three-year “Meet
In Singapore 1995” global marketing initiative.
He currently
sits on the Advisory Committee, School of Hospitality at Republic
Polytechnic and is also an interviewer for the applicants to
Cornell School of Hotel Administration.
A Chartered Financial
Analyst (CFA), Alan was awarded the Singapore Tourism Promotion
Board overseas scholarship in 1988 and holds a Bachelor of Science
Degree (Distinction) from the School of Hotel Administration,
Cornell University.
