Air Astana has launched direct flights
connecting Almaty to Kazan, capital of Tatarstan, Russia.
The
service is operated three times a week (Tuesday/Thursday/Saturday)
using Embraer 190 airliners in a 98-seat, two-class configuration.
The new service from
Almaty to Kazan is Air Astana’s seventh
destination in the Russian Federation, with existing services operating from Almaty to Moscow, Saint Petersburg and Samara, as
well as those operating from
Astana, Kazakhstan's capital, to
Moscow, Novosibirsk and Yekaterinburg.
Passengers travelling from
Kazan will be able to easily connect to Air Astana services from
Almaty to Asian destinations including Bangkok, Dehli, Hong Kong
and Kuala Lumpur.
“The new Air Astana flight between
Tatarstan and Kazakhstan is a long-awaited service not only for
the 250,000 Tatars and Bashkirs of Kazakhstan, but also for all
those who call Kazakhstan their second home. We hope that these
regular flight connections will enable the socio-political,
economic and cultural relations between one of the largest regions
in the Russian Federation and the Republic of Kazakhstan to become
even closer,” said Taufik Karimov, President of the Tatar and
Bashkir's Association of National Cultural Centers of the Republic
of Kazakhstan.
The cost of an economy return ticket from Kazan to Almaty starts
at 11,139 rubles, including all airport taxes and other fees and from 26,939 ruble for business class.

including airport taxes and other fees and from 127,562 tenge for
business class.
The flight duration from Kazan to Almaty is 3
hours and 30 minutes, while Almaty to Kazan takes 3 hours and 50
minutes.
