Tiger Airways is preparing to launch flights
between Singapore and Colombo; its first destination in Sri Lanka,
and its seventh in its growing network of destinations in South
Asia.
Tickets to Colombo are available from today, 23
March 2012, at a special promotional fare with limited seats at a
first-come-first served basis, from Sin$138 one-way (Singapore to
Colombo), all-inclusive. The promotional fares are for travel from
31 May 2012 to 24 September 2012.
Tiger Airways will fly three times a week
to Colombo when the service commences – on Tuesday, Thursday and
Sunday.
A bustling metropolis, Colombo is the political,
economic and cultural centre of Sri Lanka, and is home to the
majority of Sri Lankan corporations’ headquarters. As the largest
city and capital in Sri Lanka, Colombo draws the varying cultures
of the island-nation together to make up a beautiful patchwork of
colonial architectural marvels, bustling trade vibes and rustic
charm.
Stewart Adams, Managing Director of Tiger
Airways Singapore said, “Colombo is an international gateway to
many charming tourist spots in Sri Lanka such as its pristine
beaches Beruwala and Unawatuna, and UNESCO World Heritage Sites
Polonnaruwa and Kandy. The city is also an attraction in itself,
with its rich cultural heritage coupled with the verve of a modern
city. The direct service to Colombo, together with Tiger Airways’
value-for-money air fares, will not only enhance connectivity
between the two island nations, but will also provide Sri Lankans
residing in South East Asia an added incentive to visit their
family and friends in Sri Lanka more often.”
