Etihad Airways, the national airline of the
United Arab Emirates, has appointed David Ranger as its Partner
Relationship Manager for the Asia Pacific South region.
David has
more than 30 years’ aviation experience and has held senior
management positions with British Airways, the Qantas/BA Joint
Services business and Airnorth.
David will be responsible for Etihad Airways’
partner relationships in the Asia Pacific region. These currently
include Virgin Australia, Air New Zealand, Bangkok Airways,
Malaysia Airlines, Philippine Airlines and Vietnam Airlines.
Lindsay White, Etihad Airways Vice President for
Asia Pacific South and Australasia, said, “David’s experience in managing complex airline partnerships
worldwide will be a great asset to our business in the region ... Partnerships are at the heart of Etihad Airways’ global
network development strategy so we need highly skilled professionals like David guiding their successful implementation.”
David will commence in the Brisbane-based role on
16 July 2012,
with dual reporting lines to Lindsay White in the airline’s Asia Pacific South Sydney headquarters and Ali Saleh, Etihad Airways
Abu Dhabi-based Vice President Alliances and Partnerships.
