Starting 1 August 2012, members of Etihad
Airways’ Etihad Guest and Czech Airlines’ OK Plus frequent flyer
programs will be able to earn and redeem miles on all Etihad
Airways and Czech Airlines flights.
The move builds on the successful 18-destination
codeshare relationship which the two flag carriers launched in
June 2011, and follows Czech Airlines’ re-introduction of direct
Prague-Abu Dhabi services last autumn.
Peter Baumgartner, Etihad Airways’ Chief
Commercial Officer, said, “This is a natural next step in
developing our partnership with Czech Airlines and in providing
members of Etihad Guest and OK Plus with the fantastic opportunity
to earn and spend miles seamlessly on each of our networks.”
Jiří Marek, Czech Airlines Vice President for
Sales and Marketing, added, “We look forward to rewarding our
combined travellers with frequent flyer miles on our codeshare
flights and beyond. Czech Airlines offers a wide-reaching
destination network over central and Eastern Europe, has a loyal
customer base and extending the partnership with Etihad Airways
now gives our OK Plus members the opportunity to earn and spend
miles on an additional 80 plus destinations.”
