Tourism Australia has made the following changes
to its International Division for the United States and
Continental Europe international postings.
Vice President, The Americas for Tourism
Australia, Daryl Hudson, based in Los Angeles, has advised the
national tourism agency that he will not renew his contract which
expires in late 2011.
Regional General Manager, Continental Europe,
Katherine Droga, based in Frankfurt, after four years in the role,
will be returning to Tourism Australia’s corporate HQ in Sydney.
Both Mr Hudson and Ms Droga will remain in their
postings under a transition process as a search is conducted and
completed for new appointments.
For Tourism Australia, the Americas region
covers the United States, TA’s fourth largest international
market, in addition to Canada and the emerging South American
market, headlined by Brazil.
In Europe, outside of the United Kingdom, TA
focuses its activities in primary western inbound markets of
France, Germany and Italy, and some activity in the Netherlands,
Switzerland, the Nordic region and Russia.
Tourism Australia Managing Director Andrew
McEvoy said both Mr Hudson and Ms Droga had been responsible for
some key initiatives in their roles and thanked them for their
contributions. “Upon her return to Australia, Ms Droga will work
closely with Executive General Manager International, Frances-Anne
Keeler, in a role to set the right strategic path in Japan and
Korean markets where Tourism Australia is now embarking on a
revitalized approach,” Mr McEvoy said.
