Emirates SkyCargo has taken delivery of its
third Boeing 777 Freighter.
The 777F will be deployed to Brazil
serving São Paulo (VCP) thrice weekly complementing the daily
passenger operation to GRU.
“Even in an uncertain global economy,
our commitment to facilitating international trade remains
strong,” said Tim Clark, President Emirates Airline, whose Cargo
team worked closely with the planemaker on the design of the
state-of-the-art aircraft. “Boeing’s collaborative spirit inspires
us to work together to develop creative solutions to the
challenges the cargo industry faces every day.”
Invited by
Boeing to help digitally design the aircraft to better meet
Emirates’ customers’ needs, the newest addition to the Emirates
SkyCargo fleet features a wide main deck cargo door for easier
uplift of oversized shipments. The airline also worked closely with Boeing in optimizing the
main deck floor layout.
The aircraft has a long-range flying
capacity of over 17 hours without refueling, and is capable of
carrying up to 103 tonnes of cargo.
Emirates SkyCargo introduced its first Boeing
777F in March 2009. In December 2010, it operated its longest ever
non-stop flight – 17.5 hours from Sydney to New York – on the
Boeing 777F.
