Taiwanese carrier, TransAsia Airways, today
launches a daily service between Taipei and Singapore.
TransAsia will operate Airbus A320 aircraft in a
two-class configuration on the Taipei - Singapore route.
The flight schedule features an early morning
departure out of Changi Terminal 2 and an end of day return from
Taipei’s Taoyuan International Airport, which will give business
and leisure travellers the opportunity to maximise their time in
the Taiwanese capital.
“We are delighted to celebrate the commencement of
our daily service to Singapore on our 60th anniversary. Our
business and leisure passengers can look forward to exciting
product offerings which include an excellent flight schedule in
and out of Changi. We look forward to working closely with
Changi Airport Group to grow our business in Singapore and the
region,” said Mr Vincent Lin, Chairman of TransAsia Airways.

celebrate its commencement of operations at Changi Airport,
TransAsia Airways is offering promotional fares for return
business class and economy class tickets at Sin$888 and Sin$318
respectively. Fares exclude all applicable fees and surcharges,
and terms and conditions apply.
Passenger traffic between
Singapore and Taipei rose 21.2% to 835,000 passenger movements
in 2010, compared with the year before. In the first five months
of 2011, the route grew by 16.5% to more than 385,000 passenger
movements.
Changi Airport Group’s Executive Vice President for
Air Hub Development, Mr Yam Kum Weng, said, “We warmly welcome
to Changi Airport, TransAsia Airways, an established Taiwanese
airline with a heritage of good service and reliability. The
commencement of TransAsia’s Taipei-Singapore service is timely
to meet the strong travel demand by both Taiwan and Singapore
residents on this sector, and provides travellers with more
options when visiting both cities.”
Including TransAsia Airways, six carriers now
operate a total of 60 weekly services linking Singapore to Taipei.
The others are Taiwan’s China Airlines and Eva Air, as well as
Singapore-based Jetstar Asia, Singapore Airlines and Tiger

to join Changi’s family of airlines this year. As at 1 June 2011,
Changi Airport serves 100 airlines operating more than 5,700
weekly flights to more than 200 cities in 60 countries and territories.
