Carlson has opened the 107-room Park Plaza

The hotel is Carlson’s sixth Park Plaza and 40th hotel
in India, bringing the total number of rooms in the country to
4,027. With easy access to the city centre, CODISSIA Trade
Centre and Coimbatore airport, Park Plaza Coimbatore is
convenient for business travelers visiting South India’s textile,
manufacturing and information technology hub.
Park Plaza Coimbatore is also a good
base from which leisure travelers can visit nature and cultural
attractions such as Perur Siva temple with its 1,000-year-old granite sculptures, Puliakulam temple which houses Asia’s biggest
statue of Lord Ganesha, Anamalai Wildlife Sanctuary and Ooty Hill
Station located at an altitude of 7,500 feet.
The hotel features 107
guest rooms with 92 standard rooms, 11 deluxe rooms and 4 suites.
The rooms feature local touches
such as bamboo flooring and modern amenities
that include wireless internet access.
Guests seeking to revitalize
the mind and body can choose to indulge in the spa, workout at the
fitness centre or relax in the rooftop swimming pool.
The hotel has 2,844 square feet of dedicated
meeting and event space which can accommodate up to 450 people.
“Park Plaza
is fast becoming a choice for hotel owners as they appreciate the
value of the brand and its resonance with business and leisure
travelers. In Asia Pacific, the number of operating Park Plaza
hotels and resorts will increase from 15 to 25 by 2014. This augurs well for Carlson as trends continue to indicate high travel
growth into and within Asia Pacific,” said Simon C. Barlow, President, Carlson Hotels, Asia Pacific.
