Yayasan Guru Malaysia Berhad (YGMB) through its YGMB Travel & Tours subsidiary and Asian Overland Services Tours & Travel (AOS) signed a memorandum of understanding on Monday that will enable members of the teaching profession and YGMB to make online bookings for holiday reservations, hotel accommodation, local tourism products, nature tours and eco products via AOS’s technology platform.

Speaking at the ceremony, Chairman for YGMB, Y. Bhg. Tan Sri Dato’ Hj. Alimuddin bin Hg. Mohd. Dom, said, “This is an important step forward for YGMB as it now means our extensive membership has access to state-of-the-art technology which our travel partner AOS has invested in. Now our members can use the best travel booking technology in the world which means they can make important savings both financially and in terms of time when making their travel arrangements. It also means for our travel partners AOS that they now have critical mass to enable them to adopt new and further enhance their current technology so in the end, everybody gains an advantage. We also expect that our membership will travel more especially throughout Malaysia as a result of this initiative. This will be good for the local economy and further enhance the knowledge base of teachers in enabling them to be better prepared to educate their students about Malaysia.”

Mr. Anthony Wong, Group Managing Director for AOS added, “We estimate that this important business partnership will generate business in the order of hundreds of thousands of Ringgit in its first year of operation.”
