Marco Saxer has been appointed as General
Manager of the Swisstel Kolkata, the Swiss hospitality groups
maiden property in India.
Mr. Saxer has over 20 years of experience with
international hotel chains across Europe, the Middle East and
Asia.
His career began with the Carlton
Hotel, Singapore followed by various positions in Sales, F & B and
Finance with Radisson and Holiday Inn.
Between 2001 and 2010 he
was the General Manager of the Amari Atrium Hotel in Bangkok
followed by the position of General Manager at Mvenpick Hotel in
Kuwait.
Mr. Saxer is a graduate from the Hotel Management School in
Lausanne (EHL) and holds a diploma in Strategic Management from Cornell University NY, USA.
Swisstel Kolkata has 147
guest rooms and suites, four
restaurants and bars, a fitness centre, a rooftop swimming pool,
and over 1261 square meters of meeting space with one of the largest pillarless banquet
spaces in the city. The hotel is part of a new urban
development with an attached mall featuring shops, restaurants and
a multiplex cinema.
