Hertz has opened two new locations in the business district of Dhaka, Bangladesh, to cater for leisure and business travel with airport transfers, chauffeur drive and long term rentals.

Inter-city transfers between Dhaka and other main city points such as Chittagong and Cox’s Bazar are also available.

Customers can choose from a fleet of air-conditioned sedans, sports utility vehicles, minivans and minibuses.

The two new Bangladesh locations are in Malibag and Gulshan, Dhaka. Malibag, located in downtown Dhaka, is close to the central business district as well as prestigious academic institutions. Gulshan is an affluent neighbourhood of Dhaka, where numerous local and multinational companies have their local headquarters located.

Hertz has signed a partnership with licensee Mollah Netcom Ltd to operate the Hertz brand in Bangladesh, a country located next to China, India and Southeast Asian markets. This move brings Hertz’s network in Asia to approximately 1,300 locations in 13 countries.

Mollah Netcom is part of the Mollah Group of Industries, one of the oldest and most reputable groups of companies in Bangladesh. The group’s largest business is Bismillah Airlines, one of the first international cargo carriers in Bangladesh.

Michel Taride, President Hertz International and Executive Vice President at Hertz Corporation, said, “Bangladesh is enjoying strong economic growth. Hertz is certainly well-positioned to ride on this growth trend. With influx of foreign direct investments, there is increasing demand for top class car rental services.”

Arshal Arafat, Chief Executive Officer at Hertz Bangladesh, added, “Transportation is an essential part of any big establishment in Bangladesh, from the huge ready-made garment factories to the telecom industry, pharmaceuticals and world chain retailers. We are able to provide total mobility solutions for their employees, senior management and VIPs throughout the country.”
