Carlson Hotels has renewed its contract with
Pegasus Solutions for the company’s agent-preferred Global
Commission Processing Service, which Carlson currently uses to
manage commission tracking and payment for more than 1,000 Carlson
hotels in 77 countries worldwide.
The three-year agreement now
includes the implementation of Pegasus’ Rules Engine and User
Interface, which empowers Carlson to apply customized rate rules
for commission transactions for its Radisson, Country Inns &
Suites By Carlson, and Park Inn by Radisson brands.
The
Pegasus Rules Engine was pivotal to Carlson’s contract renewal due
to the ability it affords Carlson to perform calculations for commissionable transactions based on various criteria they can
implement and manage.
This rule setting allows Carlson to
develop a customized hierarchy of criteria appropriate for various
transactions, according to Christine Brosnahan, vice president of
global distribution and reservation services for Carlson Hotels.
“Pegasus not only provides commission processing services that
are sought-after by travel agents, but they also have developed
and implemented a unique solution that makes our business more
efficient and manageable,” said Brosnahan. “With the Rules Engine,
we can perform commission calculations based on everything from
rate, arrival or departure date, hotel, agency, region, or
commissionable or non-commissionable rates, among others. We also
benefit from the ability to manage our own rules in the system via
a web application to the User Interface.”
As a preferred commission payment provider for
more than 60,000 travel agencies worldwide, Pegasus processes more
than US$ 500 million in commissions annually, serving more than
35,000 properties, as well as the majority of travel distributors
in more than 200 countries.
