In an effort to further strengthen the
technology capabilities of its world-wide network, FCm Travel
Solutions has appointed a new global leader for technology.
Taking on the global leadership role is FCms
current chief information officer (CIO) for USA, John Morhous. As
part of his role John will retain his responsibilities as CIO for
the companys USA business and will also oversee the future
development and integration of FCms global technology platforms,
product and customer offering.
Considered one of the companys most experienced
technology experts, John will be focused on creating greater
global coordination and technology consistency between FCms
regional businesses in Europe, Middle East, Africa, Americas and
Asia Pacific.
John will be working closely with FCms regional
leaders as well as the different business divisions within FCm and
parent company Flight Centre Limited to achieve a more streamlined
approach to the companys technology offering for the corporate
travel market.
As FCms USA CIO and global technology leader,
John will take ownership of the development of FCms global
strategy, management, project execution, product delivery as well
as maintaining industry relationships with key partners.
With more than a decade of experience in the
technology industry and more than five years within the travel
industry, John has broad experience in product and
systems, having worked in technology management roles within the
travel, health care, large enterprise and financial services
markets.
John also played a key role in the integration
of technology systems following the acquisition of Boston-based
corporate travel provider Garber's Travel Services Inc by Flight
Centre Limited's USA subsidiary, Flight Centre USA Holding Corp.
This is a very exciting step for me
professionally and personally. I see it as a natural progression
and extension of my current role. Because FCm is one of the
largest corporate travel providers in the US market, I have spent
quite a bit of time working with the companys global technology
platforms, John said. I have a solid understanding of what our
current capabilities are and already have a clear vision of where
I would like to take the company with the help and input of our
regional businesses and partners ... The growth of technology in the corporate travel
sector has been phenomenal over the past few years and I believe
that with greater global coordination well be in the best
position to not only move with the market but to give our clients
what they need and want from a technology and online perspective.
Based in Boston, John will continue to report to
FCm USA president John Beauvais and FCm global leader Gregory
Lording.
