KLM has implemented Amadeus Ancillary
Services (AAS) in The Netherlands.
Through AAS, KLM is now able to
offer travel agencies the option to book Economy Comfort seats,
expanding the access to its content of ancillary products and
services.
Amadeus Airline Ancillary Services is an end-to-end
solution which enables airlines to distribute (display, book,
price and pay) services across all channels in full compliance
with industry standards.
Amadeus travel agencies in The Netherlands can
benefit from the seamless integration of the new KLM content in
the travel agent workflow, which removes the need for travel
consultants to book ancillary services across multiple interfaces.
The system works by displaying all the available services in one
place and allowing the agent to select each ancillary product and
book in one click.
“We are very pleased that our solution is
helping KLM distribute Economy Comfort seats to all travel
agencies using Amadeus GDS,” said David Doctor, Director of
Airline and Travel Agency Distribution at Amadeus. “Amadeus
continues to be a pioneer in the area of ancillary services,
focusing on providing a solution that maximises revenue, delivers
unmatched levels of customer service -through its multichannel
offer- and allows travel agencies to compete effectively.”
Seventeen airlines have signed up for Amadeus
Airline Ancillary Services. The solution has already been
implemented both for the online and the travel agency channels in
key markets, including France and Scandinavia.
