Finnair, and its oneworld alliance partner,
Qantas, will soon start codesharing on flights between Helsinki
and Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, Adelaide and Sydney via Singapore
and Helsinki and Sydney via Bangkok.
The cooperation begins via Bangkok in February
2011 and via Singapore in May 2011, when Finnair commences its
daily operations to Singapore.
“Thanks to this expanded cooperation, Finnair
will be able to offer its customers a wide range of destinations
in Australia and for its Australian customers more choices when
travelling to Europe,” said Mika Perho, Senior Vice President
Commercial Division.
The codeshare flights have both Finnair and
Qantas flight numbers and are flown via Singapore or Bangkok.
Finnair can sell the Qantas operated flights under its own flight
number.
