The Thai Airways aircraft utilized on flight TG794 that landed safely following
a bomb hoax at Los Angeles International Airport has been released
by U.S. federal authorities for its return flight to Bangkok.
The departure of flight TG795, routed Los
Angeles-Bangkok, was delayed by two hours from its originally
scheduled time 23:20 to depart at 01:45 (Los Angeles Time) on the
morning of 8 September 2010.
The airline said that concerns were raised when
a passenger found a bomb threat note scrawled on the mirror in
the lavatory and alerted cabin crew who informed the captain. US
federal authorities were then informed and took preparatory procedures for such
situations.
Flight TG794, utilizing Airbus A340-500,
registration number HS-TLC, carrying 171 passengers and 18 crew
member, totaling189 persons onboard left Bangkok International
Airport (Suvarnabhumi) at 19:30 and landed safely at Los Angeles
International Airport at 20:51 (Los Angeles time).
