SAS and Icelandair have entered into a
partnership agreement that includes codeshare on a number of
routes, providing better connections to and from Iceland, and
reciprocal frequent flyer benefits.
The partnership comes into effect today (8
November 2010), and includes codeshare on routes beyond SAS' hubs
of Copenhagen and Stockholm to Berlin, Gothenburg, Hamburg, Milan,
Munich, Vilnius, Zurich and Warsaw.
"This agreement gives us an opportunity to
provide our customers with a whole new range of services and
destinations and we look forward to further enhancing our
cooperation with Scandinavian Airlines," said Helgi Már
Björgvinsson, Icelandair's SVP of Sales and Marketing.
Early 2011, Icelandair will also become a
partner of SAS' frequent flyer program EuroBonus, whilst SAS
becomes a partner of Icelandair's Saga Club.
