Costa Cruises has appointed Dario Rustico as Vice President Sales & Marketing
Asia Pacific
Operations.
In his new role, Rustico will extend
his current duties to the China market, and has overall
responsibilities for the regions long term strategic growth,
developing the overall sales strategies and strengthening the
sales teams. Working closely with the sales and marketing teams in
Shanghai, Beijing and Guangzhou, he will manage all daily sales
and marketing activities for the whole region to further build
Costas market presence. He will maintain his direct reporting
line to the Costa President.
Rustico joined Costa Cruises
in 2002 when he was actively involved in establishing the Emerging
Markets Department from the companys Genoa, Italy headquarters,
where he managed sales and marketing activities for Costa Cruises
in over 45 countries in Asia, the Middle East, Africa, Northern
and Eastern Europe as well as Australia.
In 2005 he moved
to Hong Kong to open up Costa Regional Headquarters. Since then he
has been instrumental in the set up of the organization and in the
business expansion of Costa Cruises in the Asia Pacific markets.
Rustico is a member of the Advisory Committee on Cruise
Industry for 2010-2012 to advise the Hong Kong Special
Administrative Region Government on measures to enhance the
development of Hong Kong as a regional cruise hub. He is also the
Vice Chairman of Asia Cruise Association, which is Asia's largest
cruise association dedicated to the promotion and growth of the
cruise industry in the region.
Dario Rustico is a graduate
of Florida International University in Miami, where he obtained
his MBA with an emphasis on international markets.
