Banyan Golf Club Hua Hin Wins More Awards

[HD videos below] Some of the world’s experts on golf gathered in Bangkok between 18 and 20 October 2010 to debate Asia’s rapidly growing role in the game of golf.

Golf developers, operators, architects, builders, equipment and turf suppliers, investors and consultants together with a host of others met to share a new vision on how golf will grow in this region in the next decade.

Celebrity speakers included Greg Norman, Annika Sorenstam and Gary Player shared with the audience their views on golf and its future. Topics ranged from golf course design, human capital, architecture, golf as an Olympic sport, to the new media opportunities in communicating products and services.

Following the conference, the gala awards dinner was held by Asian Golf Monthly, one of the region’s most respected golf industry magazines and the Banyan Golf Club, Hua Hin won:

 1st Runner Up: “Best Clubhouse in Asia Pacific” - This was a very competitive category covering the entire Asia Pacific region which included several prestigious clubs such as Sentosa Singapore, Dubai Creek Golf and Yacht Club. The winner of this category was Nirwana Golf Club, Bali. No other Clubhouse in Thailand was nominated in this category.

2nd Runner Up: “Best Golf Course in Thailand” - With 280 golf courses in the Kingdom of Thailand it is impressive for a course that is only 2 years old to get so close to winning. The Thai Country Club, established in 1996, won this category.

Banyan Golf Club, Hua Hin’s General Manager Stacey Walton said, “I am very proud to have collected these awards on behalf for our golf club. There are so many people to thank which includes our shareholders, team members, members and guests who have all contributed in a positive way towards the development of our quality brand image and identity. Golf Course maintenance plays a major part so I am very proud of our superintendent and his crew for keeping our golf course in world class condition.
