[HD videos below] Below we have a collection of
fun HD videos that were taken at the
2010 Hong Kong Rugby Sevens,
one of the main social and sporting events in this vibrant SAR. If
you would like to know the final scores and such then check out the
Results from the 2010 Hong Kong Sevens to see who beat who and
by how much.
The Hong Kong Sevens is widely regarded as the best Rugby Sevens
Party in the world, and it never disappoints the sold-out 40,000
strong crowd with its bold and colourful costumes, fun ambiance
and of course, some crunching rugby sevens action.
The videos we feature below are supposed to give
you a little taste of what the Hong Kong Sevens is all about.
Unfortunately, due to very strict rights issues we are unable to
bring you live coverage from the games, or even segments of the actual
games themselves. Our apologies for this, and we do hope you
understand. We also struggled with an extremely slow internet
connection at the stadium, which made the uploading of videos, and even general
updates, a bit of a
nightmare to say the least!
The videos below are listed with the latest at
the top and then go down
to the first video which was taken on Friday morning before the
stadium had even opened. The video from Sunday is being prepared
and will be finished and uploaded below very soon.
Remember, the HK 7s sells out quickly, the hotels
closest to the stadium increase their rates dramatically and also
sell out quickly, so if you plan to come in 2011 and enjoy the
party, don't delay book as soon as you can. In 2011 the Hong Kong
Sevens will take place 25 - 27 March 2011.
Highlights from the final day - Sunday, 28 March
2010.
A few highlights from Saturday afternoon.
Early Saturday morning. The South Stand of the
Hong Kong Rugby Sevens is famous for its noise, cheerful crowd and
colourful costumes. It fills quickly, and by 10am on Saturday the
stand was already very close to capacity, so it pays to arrive
early and avoid the inevitable queues. In this brief video we
feature some of the champions from the 2010 Hong Kong Rugby Sevens
South Stand arriving early and in a mood to party.
Friday highlights. Many say that the greatest
Rugby Sevens party on Earth takes place in Hong Kong. If that is
so, then the fun has just begun as the action got underway at Hong
Kong Stadium in the 2010 HK Sevens.
The gates opened, crowds grew and the fun and
games are now well underway in the 2010 Hong Kong Rugby Sevens.
Before the main rugby could begin though, there was a little
traditional eye
painting to do.
The weather early on Friday (26 March 2010)
afternoon was cool but perfect, and we can only hope it continues through
the weekend as one of Hong Kong's favourite parties gets underway.
The Hong Kong Rugby Sevens is one of the main events on the HK
social and sporting calendar. It is not just about rugby, but also
business, networking, fancy dress, drink and loads of fun. This
very brief video was taken before the stadium had even opened.
Final preparations were getting underway, the beer being chilled,
Pimms being prepared, the All Star Dancers warming up, speakers
being tested ........... the party, ladies and gentlemen, is about
to begin.
