Oman Air is to launch daily flights between
Muscat, the capital of the Sultanate of Oman, and Ras Al Khaimah,
in the UAE, on 2 May 2010. Ras Al Khaimah will be the airline's
34th destination worldwide and the third in the United Arab
Emirates, the other two being Dubai and Abu Dhabi.
Peter Hill Oman Airs Chief Executive Officer
said, Ras Al Khaimah is the 4th largest emirate in the UAE in
terms of area and population and is a growing leisure destination.
Oman Airs foray into this new destination is sure to open a new
market both for inbound and outbound travellers.
Currently, Oman Air flies to 32 destinations with Kuala
Lumpur in Malaysia joining the network from 1 May 2010. Going
forward, Oman Air will also commence flights to Al Ain, Lahore,
Islamabad, Dar-Es-Salaam, and Kathmandu, and Milan will join the
network in the Winter Schedule.
Ras Al Khaimah has 64
kilometers of beach along the clear blue Persian Gulf. Among the
many tourists attractions there is an 18-hole Golf course shaped
around a large open salt water lagoon.
The new route will
be operated by Oman Airs ATR aircraft.
