India’s legendary The Taj Mahal Palace, a member
of The Leading Hotels of the World, has re-opened its Palace wing
following an extensive two-year restoration project.
Mr Ratan
Tata, Chairman of Indian Hotels Company, promised two years ago to
restore The Taj Mahal Palace to its former glory – and sent a
message to the world that “we can be hurt, but we cannot be
knocked down”.
The iconic Mumbai landmark has welcomed
maharajas and princes; presidents and world leaders; and
generations of celebrities since opening in 1903 - it offers
guests an unforgettable experience that encapsulates a slice of
history, legend and romance.
With signature
‘Palace Butler Service’ ensuring a highly individual guest
experience, The Taj Mahal Palace Club rooms, Grande Luxury rooms
and themed Grande Suites in the Palace wing are each
appointed with original artworks, state-of-the-art technology and
interactive multi-media at the touch of a button.
The Palace Lounge is a private retreat exclusively for Palace wing
guests to relax over afternoon tea and evening cocktails whilst a
fleet of Jaguar/ Bentley limousines will provide stylish airport
transfers. Other unique and indulgent experiences for Palace wing
guests include customized bath rituals.
Renovations
were completed by internationally acclaimed designers Lissoni
Associati Milano, BAMO
Spain, LTW Design Works of Kuala
Lumpur and James Park Associates,
Singapore.
The restoration also included facelifts
for the hotel’s acclaimed restaurants Sea Lounge, Zodiac Grill,
Souk, Masala Kraft, Aquarius, Shamiana, Starboard and La
Patisserie.
Also renovated is The Taj Mahal Palace Ballroom,
a quintessential venue for landmark events and celebrations.
A special Taj Mahal Palace relaunch promotion of
10% off the Best Available Rate with breakfast is being offered to Leaders Club
members until 31 December 2010.
