Singapore Airlines has confirmed that Mr Bey Soo
Khiang, Senior Executive Vice President for Marketing & Corporate
Services, will leave the company with effect from 28 February
2011.
Mr Bey will be departing from SIA after more than 10 years
with the airline. He joined as Executive Vice President Technical
in July 2000 and was promoted to Senior Executive Vice President
Technical & Human Resources in 2002. In 2004 he took over the
oversight of Operations and Planning areas, and earlier this year
assumed the post of Senior Executive Vice President for Marketing
& Corporate Services.
“It is with great regret that we are announcing
Soo Khiang’s departure. Since joining SIA after an illustrious
26-year career in the Singapore Armed Forces, Soo Khiang has
served with great dedication and loyalty. He has made significant
contributions towards the development of the company. All of us in
SIA will miss him, and we wish him the very best in his future
endeavours,” said SIA Chairman, Mr Stephen Lee.
Mr Bey said, “The time is right for me to move
on. I will be leaving knowing that the airline remains in good
hands. It is a difficult decision to leave an organisation,
particularly a world class one like SIA and where I have so many
good friends and fond memories. But I have decided to move on to
explore new opportunities and challenges.”
Mr Bey will retain oversight of the Marketing
and Corporate Services divisions until his departure. Plans for
new leadership of these divisions is expected to be be finalised in the coming
weeks.
