Mandarin Oriental has appointed Emily Snyder as
Vice President of Sales and Marketing for The Americas, effective
from 7 September 2010.
Ms Snyder has been promoted to the role from her
previous post as Director of Sales and Marketing at the Groups
North American flagship, Mandarin Oriental, New York.
In her new role, Ms Snyder will be responsible
for all aspects of Mandarin Orientals sales efforts in the
Americas.
Reporting directly to Michael Hobson, Mandarin
Oriental Hotel Groups Chief Marketing Officer based in Hong Kong,
Ms Synder will direct a team of 25 sales colleagues from the
Groups New York office.
Commenting on the appointment,

will help drive Mandarin Orientals further growth in The
Americas. Her talent, creativity and customer-centric approach to
business will be of tremendous benefit to our Group, our

Ms Snyder, who has more than
25 years of experience in the hospitality industry, began her
career at Mandarin Oriental in 1992, first joining the Groups
regional sales office in The Americas overseeing corporate
transient sales. In 1995, she left Mandarin Oriental to further
her experience amongst other luxury hotels in New York.
She then rejoined Mandarin Oriental, New York in 2003 as Director
of Sales, where she was an integral member of the opening team.
She was promoted to the leadership role of Director of Sales and Marketing in 2007.
