New Lingfield Park Marriott Hotel & Country Club Opens in Surrey

Just in time for Lingfield Park’s summer race season, the 116-room Lingfield Park Marriott Hotel & Country Club has opened in Surrey, England under a franchise agreement with Arena Leisure Plc. A grand opening celebration is planned for 21 June 2010 with special guest Dame Judi Dench.

Situated on more than 450 acres of rolling Surrey countryside between London and Brighton and in close proximity to London Gatwick Airport, Lingfield Park Racecourse is one of the U.K.’s oldest, busiest and most upscale horse racing venues. The Lingfield Park Marriott Hotel & Country Club offers views across the racecourse and surrounding countryside.

To celebrate the opening, the Lingfield Park Marriott Hotel & Country Club is offering a special Escape! Race Day promotion (rate code SPE) starting from £155 through March 2011. The package includes:

Steeped in history, Lingfield Park was first opened in 1890 by the Prince of Wales who later became King Edward VII. Lingfield Park was the first of only four racecourses in the United Kingdom to have an all-weather track.

Lingfield Park’s 18 hole, tree-lined golf course has been newly landscaped and now boasts a new golf teaching academy and pro shop. The new Breathe Spa features amenities for health and relaxation including a sparkling indoor swimming pool, steam room, sauna and fitness center.

All 116 guestrooms feature fine Egyptian cotton bedding, flat screen televisions, and miniature refrigerators. Luxurious corner rooms give guests a bird’s eye view overlooking the race course. Hotel guests also receive complimentary use of leisure facilities in Breathe Spa, including the indoor swimming pool and fitness center.

Foodies will enjoy the hotel’s new Cyprium Bar & Grill which boasts a chef’s table where guests can watch the chefs prepare their dishes for a unique dining experience.
