On 30 September 2010, TravelNewsAsia.com sat with Mr. Paul
Williams, General Manager of Madame Tussauds Bangkok and Director
of Merlin Entertainment Thailand, to ask him what the new
attraction, which will open on 4 December 2010, is all about.
In the interview, ATT asks how much tickets will
cost and whether Madame Tussauds will have a dual pricing policy
[different prices for Thais and foreigners] as some other
attractions in Thailand controversially do, how many of the
visitors do they expect will be Thai or foreigners, how many
visitors they expect in the first year, which languages they will
accommodate and how they keep people coming back.
You will also discover what the differences
between all the different Madame Tussauds around the world are,
how much it costs for a wax work to be made, what percentage of
the wax works at Madame Tussauds Bangkok will be international or
Thai celebrities, which events the Bangkok Madame Tussauds plans
to celebrate, whether they have a global membership club that
offers priority access and discounts, what merchandise they offer
and what is the most popular Madame Tussauds merchandise in the
world.
Plus, ATT asks how long it will be before there
is a Madame Tussauds in popular destinations such as Kuala Lumpur,
Seoul, Singapore or Sydney, the answer may surprise you!
