Kuwait-based Wataniya Airways it so launch
flights between Kuwait and Sharm El Sheikh in Egypt from 5 June
2009.
The airline will initially fly to the
popular holiday and MICE destination two times a week.
Wataniya Airways Chairman and Managing
Director, Abdulsalam Al Bahar, said, “Sharm El Sheikh has for more
than a decade been one of the shining stars of Egypt’s tourism
industry and it is therefore with great delight that we are
announcing this second popular Egyptian destination for Wataniya
Airways, following our successful Cairo route which we commenced
in early March 2009.”
Wataniya Airways flies from the Sheikh
Saad Terminal to Dubai, Cairo and Beirut, Bahrain and will add the
new routes of Amman, Damascus and Sharm El Sheikh to its network
in the first week of June.
It is the first time that any
commercial airline has operated out of Kuwait from a location
other than Kuwait International Airport and the
private terminal provides a fitting setting for Wataniya Airways’
special guest services.
The airline has appointed Emeco
Travel, as its General Sales Agent (GSA) in Egypt. Emeco is a
leading Destination Management Company in the region that
specialises in incentive, conference and event organization.
