Accor is to rebrand the Grand Mercure La Veranda
Resort and Spa in Vietnam as the groups first MGallery in
Vietnam. The Grand Mercure will become La Veranda Resort, a member
of the MGallery Collection of hotels, on 1 September 2009.
La Veranda Resort is located on the white sandy Duong Dong Beach on Phu Quoc
Island, the largest island in Vietnam.
The resort is set in
tropical lush green surroundings meeting the turquoise waters of
the Gulf of Thailand.
With a design reminiscent of a French
colonial seaside mansion, the 43-room and villa La Veranda
Resort features dark woods, mosaic tiles, with exposed brickwork
and ceiling fans, the hotel is a visit back to the days when Vietnam
was known as Indochine.
Patrick Basset, Accor Vice President Vietnam,
Philippines, South Korea and Japan said, Upon the completion of the
brand enhancement program, which involves the development of new
services and rituals and the deployment of a new identity unique
to the hotel, La Veranda Resort and Spa will be a worthy
addition to the MGallery collection of hotels.
Today there are
21 MGallery hotels on 5 continents.
