Marriott International has redesigned its Travel
Agent
website to offer agents new functionalities based on specific
feedback from the travel agent community. These functionalities
include the ability to access and view commission statements
online, and easier access and booking of Marriotts Fam-Tastic
rates. Additional enhancements allow for Marriotts certified
Hotel Sales Specialists to create their own user-friendly name and
password for easier navigation of the site.
The sleek new design, combined with the
innovative functionalities, allows for even more engagement with
our agent partners, said Julius Robinson, vice president of
global sales intermediaries for Marriott International. We are
confident that agents will be thrilled with the new enhancements
to the site.
Marriotts longstanding commitment to the
travel agent community began more than 20 years ago with the
creation of the Fam-Tastic familiarization rate
program, which now offers certified Hotel Sales Specialists
special rates beginning at US$44 at over 2,900 Marriott
International hotels worldwide. Marriott was also one of the first
companies to centralize travel agent commissions, and today remains
one of the only hotel companies to offer a double commission
guarantee for commissionable rate bookings. Travel agents can
become certified Hotel Sales Specialists by taking Marriotts
Hotel Excellence! training program for travel agents, now
celebrating its 10th year.
Earlier this year, Marriott
International launched the Love Travel Agents campaign, designed
to celebrate and build awareness of the travel agency community
and its partners. The campaign includes elements designed to help
educate Marriotts hotel sales teams on how to maximize the travel
agent relationship. This global campaign can be accessed through
the redesigned travel agent website, and allows travel agents and
industry partners to download free Love Travel Agents collateral
for their own unique business needs.
