The Millennium Hilton Bangkok has opened a new dining and entertainment concept - Maya, a combination of
dance, music, food and drinks.
The multi sensory evening’s experience
transforms the entire venue into a theatrical stage enabling fine
food and cocktails to meld with Thai dance performances. Evoking an aura of the mysterious, Maya
provides a continual theatrical evening filled with talented
dancers and performers from the Patravadi Theatre, a company
headed by Khun Patravadi Mejudon who is a choreographer synonymous
in Thailand with artful expression.
All the performer’s
costumes are designed by Ruth Pongstaphone, a New York-based
designer, as are those worn by the serving staff. And because
waiting tables in Maya is no ordinary experience, all servers also
perform as they work – with flowing movements and infinite grace,
their magical movements choreographed by Khun Witralai Napan
Maya’s restaurant manager, and Khun Sean Nilsuwan – consultant
mixologist.
Yet, however impressive the show, for many the
headline act is the food. A brand new set menu has been
designed and will be realized by Chef Supoj, a man with 17 years
experience and natural flair for innovative and classic Thai
cuisine. Chef Supoj and his team will conjure up culinary delights
in the theatrical open kitchen, sparks will fly and the air will
be spiced with lemongrass and chilies as a fifteen course
extravaganza is served, helping diners really feel the fire of
Thai mysticism and passion.
Consultant mixologist Khun
Sean Nilsuwan has created a menu of cocktails that bring to life
the spice of Thai living, using fresh herbs and local fruits, so
that diners may sample glass after glass of exotic elixirs evoking
the unknown, the tantalizing and the enthralling aura of Thailand.
Mr Thomas Hoeborn, General Manager of the Millennium
Hilton Bangkok said,
“Altogether Maya is the perfect venue to combine the elements of
theatre, art, fine dining and immaculate service to create for an
evening of true cultural unrivalled indulgence. We are extremely
proud to have such high caliber performers, chefs, mixologist and
indeed other restaurant serving staff at the hotel to help us
ensure that every meal served at Maya is quite magical.”
