The Crowne Plaza Changi Airport has promoted
Patricia Ortega to the position of Director of Sales and
Marketing. With a track record of more than 15 years in the hotel
industry, Patricia is now responsible for establishing and driving
sales and marketing initiatives across various market segments.
Patricia joined the Crowne Plaza Changi Airport in January
2008 and was a key member of the pre-opening team, joining from
InterContinental Singapore, a sister hotel to Crowne Plaza Changi
Airport in the InterContinental Hotels Group. As Associate
Director of Business Development at the InterContinental
Singapore, Patricia won global high-profile accounts such as
Symantec, Exxonmobil, Nike, Merrill Lynch, and Pfizer. Her other
career highlights include stints at Raffles the Plaza and Ritz
Carlton Millenia Singapore.
“Patricia’s strong
leadership skills and extensive experience at IHG adds tremendous
value to our team. She has played a major role in establishing a
strong business base among both business and leisure visitors and
as the hotel moves into its second year of operation, we are now
perfectly placed to take full advantage of the recovery of the
global economy,” said Mark Winterton, the Crowne Plaza Changi
Airport’s General Manager.

Changi Airport has won a string of major international awards
since opening its doors for business in May 2008, including the
latest Urban Land Institute’s (ULI) Award for Excellence in the
Asia Pacific (2009), ‘Hot List Hotels 2009’ by the prestigious
US-based magazine, Condé Nast Traveler; World’s Best Airport
Hotels 2008, by the highly regarded Forbes Traveler online and
Five Best Airport Hotels (Best Design) by British Airways’ High
Life magazine.
