Mr. Noor Ahmad Hamid will take over as
ICCA's Asia Pacific Regional Director on 27 July 2009.
Based in ICCA's Kuala Lumpur offices, he
replaces Jane Vong Holmes, who led ICCA's Asia Pacific operations
for eight years and recently moved on to become Managing Director
for the BestCities Global Alliance.
45 year old Noor holds a Diploma in Tourism
Administration, KPSL - equivalent to Degree in Tourism and is
about to complete his MA in Business Administration; he has worked
for Malaysia Tourism Promotion Board in the USA and his home
country, including a period as head of the Bidding Unit in MTPB's
Convention & Incentive Division.
He then ran the Business & Event
Department for a number of years in the private sector Richmond
Group Sdn Bhd, and before taking on his new role with ICCA he
managed variety of activities in PEMPENA Sdn Bhd developing
sponsorship, marketing and innovative promotional programmes in a
number of Asian countries.
