Dubai-based Emirates Airline has appointed Mr.
Nick Rees as its new Country Manager for Singapore and Brunei.
Mr. Rees succeeds Mr. Stephen Chu,
formerly Emirates’ Area Manager for Singapore and Brunei, who
retired after 17 years of service with the airline.
Mr Rees, who previously headed the
operations of Emirates in Greece, is tasked with
overseeing all aspects of the airline’s operations in
Singapore.
Mr Rees, who joined Emirates in 1999, has
contributed extensively to the growth of Emirates’ UK operations
as well as the launch of Emirates’ first services to North
America. In 2005, he took on the position of Country Manager for
Greece where he oversaw a rapid expansion of the airline’s
capacity.
Mr. Richard Jewsbury, Emirates’ Senior
Vice President, Commercial Operations, Far East and Australasia,
said, “Singapore is an extremely important destination on the
Emirates network and with Nick’s passion and business acumen, we
are confident that he will lead the team in bringing the Singapore
operations to greater heights.”
Nick Rees holds a degree in Economics from
Bristol University, UK and is married with two children.
