Ibis, the international economy hotel brand, of
Accor has received the ISO 9001 certification for its head office
and three hotels in China - Ibis Beijing Sanyuan, Ibis Shanghai
Lianyang, and Ibis Wuxi Hi-Tech, following a 6-month program of
audits and training programmes.
The ISO 9001
certification is the international benchmark for standards
certification and recognized in over 150 countries. In addition to these initial three hotels,
14 Ibis hotels in China are expected to obtain the ISO 9001
certification by the end of 2009.
“We are very happy to achieve this certification for these
first 3 hotels, which reinforces our commitment to providing
internationally standardized quality and service to our customers"
Mr. Gilles Larrivé, Senior Vice President of Ibis Asia, said.
"Team members will also benefit from improved working conditions,
increased job satisfaction and increased health and safety
awareness. Furthermore, suppliers and partners will benefit from
recognition, partnership and mutual understanding."
ISO 9001 is a
prominent international standard for quality management systems,
which has been established and is maintained by the International
Organization for Standardization (ISO).
Compliance with this
standard is voluntary. To obtain ISO 9001 certification, a company
must demonstrate its ability to consistently provide products that
meet customer and applicable statutory and regulatory
requirements, and its commitment to enhance customer satisfaction
through the effective application of various systems and
processes, including processes for continual improvement. Audits
are conducted regularly in order to verify that the companies
already certified continue conforming to standards.
