Jet Airways has agreed to pay
3% commission on gross fare (defined as basic fare plus fuel surcharge) domestic and international tickets
sold in India. The commission scheme, which is effective immediately, replaces the transaction fee model recently introduced.
JetLite,
the low cost airline subsidiary of Jet Airways, will however continue with the practice of transaction fee model.
Jet Airways currently operates a fleet of 85 aircraft, which includes 10 Boeing 777-300 ER aircraft, 11 Airbus A330-200 aircraft, 52 classic and
next generation Boeing 737-400/700/800/900 aircraft and 12 modern ATR 72-500 turboprop aircraft. With an average fleet age of 4.38 years, the
airline has one of the youngest aircraft fleet in the world.
Jet Airways, with the acquisition of
JetLite, has a combined fleet strength of 109 aircraft.
