Air China
is now offering travellers flights to to Taipei from four cities in Mainland China; Tianjin, Hangzhou, Chengdu and
Chongqing. These flights join Beijing and Shanghai, which have offered direct flights to Taipei since July 2008.
After a historic agreement was signed between officials from Mainland China and Taiwan, Air China will offer passengers two direct flights from Beijing, and four direct flights from Shanghai, on week days, every week, to
Taipei.
Furthermore, every week, over the weekend, there will be several direct flights to Taipei from Beijing and Shanghai, as well as from Tianjin,
Hangzhou, Chengdu and Chongqing. All these flights will be direct to Taipei and will not fly via Hong Kong, or detour over Hong Kong airspace.
This will allow Chinese travelers from both sides of the Straits to travel more conveniently, and quickly, between the Mainland and Taiwan.
These routes will open up business, cultural and travel opportunities between the cities in the Mainland, and Taipei, and in order to illustrate the
closer ties between the two regions, Air China will deploy its newly patterned planes, which celebrate this momentous occasion.
