As regional developers invest heavily in the sustainable future of Dubai, ECOS Hotels,
the more-environment-friendly budget brand of HMH – Hospitality Management
Holdings, has signed a new property strategically located in Dubailand.
Commenting
on the deal, H.E. Sheikh Mohammed bin Faisal Al Qassimi, Vice-Chairman, HMH, said,
"In developing ECOS Hotels we are driven by sustainability and environmentalism in the budget hotels sector. ECOS Dubailand will serve as a
model for our future developments."
ECOS Dubailand will feature 234 rooms and is expected to be ready by 2009.
Ralph Noblet, Director, ECOS Hotels, said "Our site is located within one of the 3 tower
cluster nodes at Dubailand residence complex, each supported with community and neighbourhood facilities and plenty of open spaces.
All rooms will be oriented inwards facing the green heart which would offer not only protection from any kind of noise and harsh sun but
also privacy and comfort for the tired traveller."
Studies suggest that
the budget hotels market is expected to grow significantly over the next 20 years. At the same time issues relating to the
environment and social responsibility are increasingly starting to influence
travellers.
