The St. Regis Shanghai
has appointed Ms. Amanda Elder as General Manager. Ms. Elder previously worked in Starwood
Hotels & Resorts in Australia and Thailand, as well as opening the first Starwood property in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. Most recently Ms.
Elder held the position of Regional Director of Sales and Marketing, Pacific.
Ms. Elder, a native Australian, has a bachelor’s degree of Arts from Auckland University, New Zealand, majoring in English and Politics; she
has nearly 20 years working experience in the hospitality industry.
Following on from the successful tenure of former General Manager Chuck Abbott, who now heads up Starwood’s expansion in Macau with
the opening of the 4,100 room Sheraton, Ms. Elder will be responsible for managing The St. Regis Shanghai, ensuring that the hotel's
quality of service and standards are maintained at the highest level.
