Six Senses has chosen the
Pan Peninsula residential development in the heart of Londons Canary Wharf as the site for the first Six
Senses Spa in the UK.
Opening on 2nd February 2009, the Six Senses Spa at Pan Peninsula
will give those in London a fresh interpretation of the urban spa, abounding with natural
light and with a vast airy terrace. Architectural finishes include the warmth of natural stone and wood, and exotic eco-friendly materials.
The spa
occupies a spacious area of more than 7,000 square feet, or 650 square metres, and
will offer a comprehensive range of Six Senses Spa signature
treatments and rejuvenating Asian-influenced therapies combined with holistic lifestyle guidance. The spa menu ranges from single treatments
to half and full day sensory journeys.
In addition to the Six Senses Spa beauty and pampering treatments, a unique urban spa concept has been incorporated into the design to cater
for guests who have limited time. The Express Retreat is a circular lounge where treatments such as de-stress reflexology, Indian head
massage and spa influenced manicure and pedicure treatments are offered. Tranquility is a separate relaxation room with reclining loungers.
The Inner Spa Sanctuary comprises eight treatment rooms including two for couples, equipped for exfoliations, body wraps and traditional Thai
therapies complemented by a luxurious bio-thermal circuit with chromotherapy steam cabin, crystal laconium, traditional dry sauna, sensory
shower and a hydrotherapy pool. Treatments are delivered by internationally trained therapists, using naturally derived and ethically produced
spa products that endorse the Six Senses commitment to decreasing environmental impact.
The opening of the Six Senses Spa at Pan Peninsula brings the number of Six Senses Spas in Europe to seven, with several more in planning
stages.
The
Pan Peninsula consists of two interlinking towers standing at 40 and 50
storeys, making it one of the tallest residential buildings in Europe. In addition to the Six Senses Spa, Pan Peninsulas residents have full access to a
state-of-the-art gymnasium and ozone pool, a private cinema showing art-house films
and new releases, signature waterside restaurant, a 50th floor cocktail bar, valet parking, concierge and business facilities. Pan Peninsulas location provides easy access to the Canary Wharf (Jubilee
Line) and South Quay (DLR) tube stations, and Londons City Airport, which has routes to 25 international destinations.
