China Southern Airlines
is upgrading its Australia-China services until the end of February, replacing dual-class
Airbus A330-200 aircraft with larger, three-class Boeing 777s, to meet peak season demand.
The airline is also offering special fares in its Pearl Class cabin – a large Premium Economy zone on the 777 – for
flights from Sydney and Melbourne to Guangzhou, China, between 8 and 24 February.
Pearl Class features 53 large, wide seats with fold-out video screens and enhanced cabin service.
“In the peak season, there is very heavy demand for Economy Class and Premium Business Class seating between
Australia and China,” said Mr James Liu, General Manager Australia for China Southern Airlines.
“The Boeing 777 will meet our requirement, providing a larger Economy Class than the A330 during this peak period,”
Mr Liu added.
“And because the Boeing offers Pearl Class – which the Airbus does not – we are now able to offer special deals for
travel in this spacious cabin during February.”
One-way Pearl Class fares from Sydney and Melbourne to Guangzhou are priced from just
A$1043.
Return Pearl Class fares to Guangzhou are priced from only $1713, while a combination fare is also available for
A$2463,
enabling travel one way in Pearl Class and one way in Premium Business.
For passengers travelling to Shanghai, a return Pearl Class fare is
A$1906 and a combination Pearl Class / Premium
Business Class fare is A$2606.
And for those flying to Beijing, the Pearl Class price for a roundtrip flight is
A$1956 while a combination Pearl Class /
Premium Business fare is A$2706.
Above fares include tax.
