The
Melbourne Metro YHA has reinforced its status as a Victorian backpacking industry leader
by winning the HMAA Award for Excellence in Backpacker Accommodation for the second year
running.
The Victorian HMAA (Hotel Motel and Accommodation Association) Awards for Excellence were
presented at a gala dinner at the Medallion Club at Melbourne’s Telstra Dome on Wednesday 22
August 2007.
More than 200 prominent members of the tourism and hospitality industry were present for the
eighth HMAA Awards ceremony – including The Hon Tim Holding MP, Victoria’s Minister for Tourism
and Major Events.
Melbourne Metro YHA is a modern and vibrant 348 bed hostel, centrally located in leafy North Melbourne. It features stylish décor, a licensed
café, travel desk and a rooftop barbeque area with magnificent 360° views of the city.
Melbourne Metro YHA Manager Michael Latham
