Accor's second hotel on Batam Island, Mercure
Batam, opened Wednesday after an extensive multi-million dollar renovation.
The 160-room hotel is located on Jalan Raden Patah in the Nagoya area in the island's main commercial hub. It is 10
kilometres from Hang Nadim Airport and only four kilometers from the Batam Centre Ferry Terminal with service to
both Singapore and Indonesia.
To promote Mercure Batam's opening, the hotel is offering a special 300,000 Rp (US$ 33) net rate per night is inclusive
of breakfast valid until 28 February, 2007.
A comprehensive renovation programme upgraded all major areas of the hotel (formerly
the Royal Batam) including new
design motifs for all guest rooms and public areas. The Mercure Batam now offers a new look in its all day dining coffee
shop, specialty restaurant, fun pub, karaoke lounge, swimming pool, fitness centre, meeting rooms, business centre
and shopping arcade.
In addition to being a popular leisure destination for both Singaporean and Indonesian travelers, Batam is an emerging
venue for international conferences, corporate meetings and events. In recent years it has also gained a reputation as
a leading manufacturing centre for South East Asia.
