Rail Tickets has launched a trainload of special fare deals or free bonus days for travel in the UK and Europe, with discounts as much as 45% between
October 2006 and February 2007.
For travel between 15
October 2006, and 31 January 2007, Rail Tickets will cut fares by up to 45%
on all high speed TGV trains in France. Bookings must be made by 31 October.
In the UK, Rail Tickets will reduce off-peak fares by 25% on five rail passes – the Britrail Classic Pass from
A$211 (four consecutive days), Britrail Flexipass, from A$267 (four days in two
months) Britrail England Consecutive Pass, from
A$169 (four consecutive days), Britrail England Flexipass from A$213 (four days in two
months) and Britrail London Plus Pass from
A$68 (two days in an eight day period).
These reductions apply for travel between 1
November 2006, and 28 February 2007, with bookings available throughout this
period.
In Europe, a free bonus day is being offered with the purchase of a six, eight or
ten day in two month Eurail Selectpass. This offer applies for
three, four and five country options.
This means that six-day passes are extended to allow seven days of travel within a two month period; eight-day passes are extended to allow
nine days of travel; and 10-day passes are extended to allow 11 days of travel.
These passes can be purchased until 31
December and must be validated within six months.
Prices start from
A$543 per person - based on a six days plus one bonus day, three-country Eurail Select First Class
Saverpass Fare.
Rail Tickets is also offering a 20% discount off prices of the Trenitalia Rail Passes, which allow unlimited rail travel throughout Italy.
Choose from three to nine days travel within a two month period. This offer is valid for travel between 1
November 2006, and 31 March 2007,
where tickets are booked and paid for by 31 December. Prices start at A$179 per person, based on a three days in two months Standard Class
Saverpass Fare.
