The Landmark Hotel, Shenzhen has undergone an extensive renovation
programme and launched a new professional spa.
Located
in the central district of Shenzhen, Southern China’s booming Special Economic Zone (SEZ), The Landmark’s renovation programme,
which started in 2005 has cost over RMB 100 million.
Among a host of special features, guests can enjoy personalised butler service on all floors, extra-large bathtubs, 12-inch rain forest showers, over
two-metre ‘dream’ beds, Egyptian cotton bed linen, 42-inch plasma screen or LCD television, and free broadband access in all rooms. Personal air
purifiers, back to basics light switches and laptop sized safe deposit boxes add the finishing touches.
Female guests have a dedicated floor, with feminine amenities provided, while Club floor guests
can enjoy a fully equipped wood-panelled Executive Lounge with complimentary snack buffet and drinks.
The wide selection of room choices ranges from deluxe studio suites, spa suites with large baths, steam room and massage areas, to Presidential
Suites. Club Floor rooms are fitted with four-way technology facilities for printing, faxing, copying and scanning.
The personal touch extends to the hotel’s Tamara Spa by Lifestyle, the latest by renowned Malaysian based consultants, Lifestyle Spa & Fitness. The most up-to-date facilities are offered in a sophisticated setting, with double glazing and a light, airy Thai feel to guarantee an ideal
escape for guests from the hustle and bustle of the city outside.
The gym features top-of-the-range Life Fitness equipment from America, aqua beds and massage beds, plus a host of services from hairstyling to
beauty treatments, steam, sauna and jacuzzi to foot massage, games and relaxation rooms and much more in the professionally managed complex.
Just a few steps away is the 15 X 8 metre half covered swimming pool, with barbecue area, children’s playground and golf putting
green.
Meanwhile, the hotel’s
dining facilities now boast an Italian restaurant, Prego, presided over by Chef Marco Maggio, whose
cooking helped to make Hong Kong’s Aqua Roma and Tokyo Restaurant famous. Specialising in his own brand of classic yet modern cuisine, he puts his
signature twist on the best and freshest seafood and pasta. “My food is light, so people can try up to 12 dishes on my tasting menu and really get
an experience of authentic Italian food,” he said.
The Landmark’s revitalized bars and restaurants also include ‘Café on The 3rd’, which features an imported micro brewery, Fortune Court Chinese
restaurant, which offers favourite Cantonese dishes in either the main dining room or in one of the 12 private rooms, a poolside bar and the Lobby
Lounge, as well as a new bar dedicated Cigar and Wine bar.
In addition, The Landmark Hotel has added a spectacular 21-metre high atrium ballroom, ideal for weddings or conferences. The hotel’s conference
rooms have also been upgraded to include an auditorium and 8 meeting rooms, all of which have high ceilings and spacious layouts. The new
business centre is also located on the same floor.
“We decided to go the whole way with this renovation. The Chinese tourism authority has introduced a Platinum Five star standard
programme, and we aim to achieve this status by fulfilling the required criteria,”
said Mr George Chiu, General Manager of the independently owned Landmark
Shenzhen.
The hotel offers a free chauffeur pick-up service from Lo Wu (Shenzhen station), less than 10 minutes away, ensuring guests a smooth and
convenient mode of transport via connections from Hong Kong city centre, Hong Kong International Airport or the nearby airports at Shenzhen and
Guangzhou.
