On Saturday 15 July 2006, at 11.45 hours (local time)
Thai Airways International's flight TG943, utilizing Boeing 747-400 aircraft, scheduled to depart Madrid to Rome, was taxiing
on the runway at Madrid airport and collided with a wing of Air Frances parked Fokker aircraft. As a result of this collision, the
tip of the right wing of THAIs aircraft was damaged.
Repair of the damage has
already been completed by THAIs technical department and the aircraft is now back
in normal operation.
The flight was carrying the total of 240 passengers on board. There has been no report of any injuries in the incident. Hotel accommodation were
provided for some passengers, while alternatives flights were arranged for other passengers.
